    Conversation

I came back from parent orientation at Emma's new school. I told Emma 2 of preschool teachers (one is her teacher) were students at her school and when they grew up and decided to come back to the school and be the teacher.  Here's our conversions:

Emma: I don't want to be a teacher.
Me: why? Teaching is a fun job. What do you want to be then?
Emma: I want to be a true princess.
Me: okie, if you want to a true princess, you need to have a good manner. For example, when people say 'good morning' to you, you will smile and say 'good morning' (her new school has a routine on greetings. Every morning, one of teach greet students at the classroom door, shake hands and see 'good morning'. Kids are expected to have eye contact with teacher and say 'good morning'. Emma is new to this and hasn't done it very well).
Emma: (thinking, good manner is too hard, so she changed her mind) I want to a person sell ice-cream!
Me: that would be fun! Will you make ice-cream too?
Emma: yea, I'll make all kinds of ice-cream. I'll eat them too.
Me: doing that job, you need good manner too, otherwise, kids won't like you and they will not buy your icecream.
    ….
    This morning.. our conversions continued

Emma: I don't want to be anyone when I grow up (ice cream girl needs good manner? Too hard..)
Me: but you have to work and make money…
Emma: I say 'I don't want to be anyone' but I'll do something
Me: what do you want to do then?
    Emma: I'll stay home…
Me: you will have to do some work..like mommy works everyday and make money.
Emma: I'll stay home and be a house keeper.
Me: Who will pay you then?
    Emma: YOU!

Emma: why princess have good manner?
Me: that's because princess got good training when they were young like you now are in school and have trainings from your teachers…
